Aim and Background: One of the main and fundamental changes and challenges in Iranian society is the tendency to live a single life and turning away from marriage and, in fact, reluctance to marry. Therefore, the current study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of schema therapy on Attitude to Love and Perfectionism in Single women Reluctant to Marry.
Methods and Materials: The current research method was experimental with a pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of this research was all female students of Azad universities in Isfahan city in 1402. The people participating in the research were selected based on the entry and exit criteria. 30 people were selected by available sampling and randomly assigned to the experimental group and the control group (15 people in each group). Then, a pre-test was taken from both groups, finally, the schema therapy experimental group received its respective intervention during 8 sessions, while the control group did not receive any training. Data were collected using Hendrick and Hendrick's love attitude questionnaire (1998), Hill et al.'s perfectionism questionnaire (2004) and Heydari et al.'s (2004) marriage satisfaction questionnaire, and using analysis of variance by measuring cunning in soft SPSS software version 23 was analyzed.
Findings: The results showed that Schema therapy reduced perfectionism and improved the attitude to love in unmarried single women, and the effects of the treatment remained in the follow-up phase. (F=9.95 and P<0.01).
Conclusions: Therefore, it can be concluded that schema therapy can be used to improve the attitude to love and reduce perfectionism in unmarried single women.
