Abstract Aim and Background: This study aimed to investigate the effects of laughter therapy and treatment methods were based solution focused therapy compared these two treatments in reducing depressive symptoms were female students. Due to the significant increase in short-term treatment of depression in adolescence may be effective treatment approaches for intervention. Methods and Materials: The intervention study pretest - posttest control group. The population of all high school girls that make up the city Ivan cluster sampling of schools was selected from a school. Screening students for depression Beck Depression Inventory were used. A total of 30 students who qualify in three groups (two experimental groups and one control group) were inserted randomly. Two groups, laughter therapy and solution focused therapy and the control group received no intervention received data entered in the software. The data entered spss.22 and by analysis of variance and post hoc test were analyzed Bonferroni (p<0.001). Findings: Based on the results, laughter therapy and solution-focused therapy is in reducing depressive symptoms (p<0.001). Laughter therapy is also effective in reducing symptoms of depression are more solution-focused therapy (p<0.001). Conclusions: Despite the laughter therapy efficacy in reducing symptoms of depression and solution-focused therapy, laughter therapy due to rapid changes in physiological parameters effective solution focused therapy.
