Aim and Background: The aim of the present study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Nurtured Heart Questionnaire.
Methods and Materials: The research method was descriptive and used the correlation model. The study population consisted of all parents with teenage children in Hamedan. The research sample consisted of 300 parents of teenagers in the first and second years of high school (12 to 17 years old) who were selected by cluster random sampling method. In order to examine the reliability of the instrument, the method of calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient, composite reliability and mean variance was used, and to examine its validity, the construct validity was used by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and internal consistency validity.
Findings: The results showed that in the internal consistency validity study, the correlation of the factors of this scale with the total score was in the range of 0.56 to 0.77. Similarly, based on the content validity index based on the opinion of 9 experts, it was 0.90, which indicates its suitability. The reliability results of the present questionnaire using Cronbach's alpha method were 0.75, which indicates the appropriate reliability of this scale. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the model of the cultivated heart questionnaire in Iranian society.
Conclusions: According to the findings, the cultivated heart questionnaire can be used to measure the desired components for research purposes.
