In order to improve the care system in psychiatric wards, it is essential to have a deep understanding of the team members' experiences with team working. This study was conducted to accesses the psychiatric team's experiences of team working in psychiatric settings. Method and Materials: This was a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. Through a convenient sampling, a purposeful sample was selected consisting of 10 persons working as personnels of psychiatric wards of four university hospitals in Isfahan in 2007. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews. Data was analysed using the seven-step method defined by Colaizzi. Findings: Findings were summarized as three core concepts (namely: ";communication, ";power"; and ";conflict";) as well as 5 sub concepts (that are: ";cooperating";, ";self awareness";, ";hop";, ";competence"; and ";multiple role";). Conclusion: The findings can contribute to future plans for improving psychiatric care in hospitals.

Abstract

Aim and Background: An individual pathology observed in families is morbid jealousy. Thus, the aim of the present study was to examine the views of family therapy specialists about interactional damages in spouses of men with morbid jealousy. Methods and Materials: The present research was a qualitative (phenomenological) study. The search population consisted of all specialists in the field of psychological family therapy. The participants consisted of 8 specialists with experiences in psychological family therapy. Data were collected through semi-structural interviews. The gathered data were analyzed through systematic method in the three steps of description, reduction, and interpretation. Findings: The results showed that from among 489 sentences related to interactional damages, 122 concepts were extracted in open coding that were disaggregated into 23 subthemes in axial coding. Finally, data were summarized into 9 categories of pathologies related to solving conflicts, communication styles, sexual relationship, communication with children, and communication with the spouse regarding familial and household issues, and cognitive, behavioral, and emotional damages which were problematic to the relationship. Conclusions: It can be concluded that, from the viewpoint of family specialists, men with morbid jealousy cause damages in their families that increase the probability of family disintegration.

Abstract

Aim and Background: What is important in the treatment of a chronic disease such as diabetes is to improve the patient's quality of life in addition to control the symptoms of the disease. The trouble that a child with a chronic disease such as diabetes imposes is a problem that cannot be recognized only from the doctor's point of view and depends on what the mother of the sick child feels. Therefore, it seems necessary to identify the care factors of children with diabetes. In this research, the aim was to identify the care factors of children with diabetes based on the lived experiences of their mothers.
Methods and Materials: This study was conducted using a qualitative method and a phenomenological approach. The participants were 16 mothers with diabetic children whose information was collected through a semi-structured interview. Sampling was done in a purposeful way and the data was analyzed by the Colaizzi method.
Findings: The findings obtained in 3 main themes and 6 sub-themes including individual characteristics (psychological-physical functioning and emotional-social functioning), family (interpersonal interactions and psychological and social problems), educational issues (concerns and needs) classification became.
Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that knowing the care factors in children with diabetes can provide the basis for adopting supportive and therapeutic measures for them.
