Abstract

Abstract Aim and Background: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a progressive disease and can extremely affect on body esteem at patients and changes obviously Emotions and attitudes with body in patients. Based on this study was to examine body esteem in patients with MS. Methods and Materials: This research Study was descriptive, 395 patients of the MS Society in Tehran in 2012 were selected by convenience sampling. Data gathering tool was a questionnaire of body esteem. Data was analyzed by independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and post hoc Scheffe test using SPSS/16. &nbsp; Findings: According to score of body esteem (3.25) and the overall average score for body esteem (42.25), Patients with multiple sclerosis had favorable body esteem. There were significant relationship between body esteem and marital status (p=0.011), educational level (p<0.001), occupational status (p=0.004), income monthly (p<0.001) and duration of disease (p=0.004), whereas this relationship for between body esteem and age were significant inverse (p<0.001). Conclusions: Where of Human feeling about body esteem is equal to value that hears, sees and senses is created in the mind and community have a role effective in improvement body esteem, the nurses can change people reaction in the first encounter with physical disabilities and so play a main role in positive assessment body esteem and take up valuable of them.

Abstract

Aim and Background: Childhood is one of the most important stages of life, in this period of life, all kinds of sexual harassment may occur for children. This research was conducted with the aim of the effectiveness of sex education in sexually abused children and normal children.
Methods and Materials: The present study was a semi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test and two-month follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of this research was children aged 7 to 12 years in the southwest of Tehran in 1400. The statistical sample of this research consisted of 15 sexually abused children and 15 normal children in the 16th and 19th district of Tehran, who were selected using the purposeful sampling method. The research tools were Russell, Peplau and Cutrona isolation questionnaire (1978), California Clark et al.'s social adjustment questionnaire (1953) and Gresham and Elliott's social skills questionnaire (1990), which were implemented on both groups of children. Finally, the data were analyzed using the analysis of covariance methods with the help of SPSSV22 software.
Findings: The findings showed that sexual education training is more effective on increasing adaptation and social skills at the confidence level of 99% (P<0.01) and reducing isolationism at the confidence level of 95% (P<0.05) of sexually abused children compared to normal children.
Conclusions: The findings of the research show that sex education can reduce children's behavioral problems and improve their adaptation and social skills, and therefore, sex education should be prioritized for abused children.

Abstract

Aim and Background: Comparing different approaches in psychology for greater effectiveness is one of the most interesting issues among researchers. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to evaluate the impact of relationship enrichment program based on cognitive behavioral therapy and emotional couple therapy on intimacy and compatibility in couples involved in domestic violence.
Methods and Materials: The experimental research method is a multi-group pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of women involved in domestic violence between the ages of 20 and 40 was in the 7th district of Tehran in 1401. Sampling method available and 60 people were selected as a sample and randomly divided into two groups of 20 people for testing and 20 people for control. For the experimental group, relationship enrichment intervention training based on cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion-oriented therapy training was held, and the control group had their normal daily schedule. The data were collected using a marital compatibility and intimacy questionnaire. The data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of covariance using SPSS.
Findings: The results of the present study showed that cognitive behavioral therapy and emotional therapy have a significant effect on marital intimacy and adjustment in couples involved in domestic violence (p<0.05), but the results for the difference in the effect of the method Treatment was not significant.
Conclusions: it can be concluded that enriching relationships based on cognitive behavioral therapy, emotional therapy on marital intimacy and compatibility in couples is effective.
