Abstract

Aim and Background : The cognitive damage caused by breast cancer can have detrimental effects on the quality of life, occupational and social performance of these patients. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of a cognitive rehabilitation on executive functions and self-care behaviors in patients with breast cancer. Materials and Methods : In an experimental study with pre-test, post-test and control group, 41 patients with breast cancer were selected by convenient sampling method and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group underwent two months treatment and the scores of the Self-care behaviors questionnaire, Tower of London test (TOL) and Stroop Test (ST). were gathered in both groups before and after the intervention and in one month follow up period. The data were analyzed by the statistical test of mixed analysis of variance. Results : The results in the post-test and follow-up stages showed that there is a significant difference between the two experimental and control groups, in terms executive function (P <0.05 and self-care behaviors (P <0.05). This means that the experimental group who underwent the intervention program had a significant improvement in the post-test phase in the variables mentioned above, and the changes made during the follow-up phase were also stable. Conclusions : The results of this study indicate the effectiveness of a designed cognitive rehabilitation program on executive functions and self-care behaviors of patients with breast cancer; therefore, considering these findings and the mechanism, the effectiveness of this treatment method can have appropriate therapeutic effects on reducing cognitive and psychological problems and improving the quality of life of patients with brest cancer.

Abstract

Aim and Background: Diabetes is a factor of many physical and psychological disorders. Nowadays, the concept of adherence in diseases be attention and has been developed due to changing the illness pattern from acute to chronic, changing its ideology from cure to prevention, limited economical resource and shortening the Duration of hospitalization of patients. In order to, the aim of this study was to survey of effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on health related beliefs among patients with type 2 diabetes.

Methods and Materials: research method was semi experimental with pretest, posttest and control group design. From patients with type 2 diabetes who referred to Assaluyeh health centers, 30 subjects were selected purposely and were assigned in control and experimental groups randomly (15 subjects each group). To collect the data the Health Beliefs Questionnaire (HBQ) was used. The data analyzed using MANCOVA.

Findings: Results of data analyzing showed that acceptance and commitment therapy on health related beliefs of patients with diabetes type 2 is effective (p<.05).

Conclusions: Results of the research showed that acceptance and commitment therapy is effective on health related beliefs. Theoretical and practical considerations of the results showed that the ACT as an effective therapy for patients with type 2 diabetes in medical centers could be applied.

Abstract

Aim and Background: Different models of family psychological education, including the Moos and Tsu model, can have a significant effect on families with Slow-learner children. In this study, the effectiveness of family rehabilitation program in promoting psychological well-being of mothers with Slow- learner children has been investigated.
Methods and Materials: This study was a quasi-educational study with pretest and posttest and control group. The sample of the present study included 30 mothers with Slow- learner children, 15 of whom were in the experimental group and the other 15 in the control group. The family rehabilitation program was performed according to the Moos and Tsu model in 8 sessions of one to one and a half hours for the experimental group. All participants completed a short form of the Reef Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire and the results were analyzed through multivariate analysis of covariance.
Findings: The analysis of the results showed that the rehabilitation program with the Moos and Tsu model has improved psychological well-being and its components in the mothers of the experimental group. This effect of family empowerment according to the Moos and Tsu model can be seen on the subscales of improving self-acceptance, positive relationships with others, autonomy, mastery of the environment, purposeful living and personal growth.
Conclusions: Findings showed that the rehabilitation program with the Moos and Tsu model with emphasis on cognitive-behavioral approach can be effective to improve the psychological well-being of mothers with Slow- learner children. Therefore, therapists can help these mothers in their well-being by using this model and its effectiveness.

Abstract

Aim and Background: Research has shown that management has an effect on the production of commercial advertising content on the Islamic Republic of Iran TV based on family values. In this regard, content management can affect the values and health of society. Therefore, the main purpose of this study was to investigate the role of family values in content production in the direction of social health.
Methods and Materials: In this study, a combined qualitative and quantitative method was used. The statistical population of this research is composed of top experts and professors in the field of media and advertising, of which 14 were identified. In the qualitative stage, after collecting the subject literature and upstream documents (instructions) of related organizations, the necessary evaluations were performed by content analysis method. The research tools included interviews with experts and researcher-made questionnaires of value indicators in media commercials. For reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach's alpha factor was used and each component obtained values ​​above 0.7 (acceptable score). For data analysis, two inferential (chi-square) and descriptive statistical methods were used using SPSS software version 25.  
Findings: Based on this study, 263 indicators were identified and after reviewing and removing duplicate indicators, 146 indicators were extracted and classified into 8 dimensions, 21 components and 146 table indicators. Then, with the help of Delphi Working Group in 2 stages, the indicators were screened and additional indicators were removed and finally 78 final indicators were extracted. For reliability of both questionnaires, Cronbach's alpha factor was used and each component obtained values ​​above 0.7 (acceptable score). Conclusions: Television advertising - commercials - seems to be recognized as the most effective means of advertising and can play an important role in the values of society.

Abstract

Aim and Background:In recent years in Iran, several studies have examined the effectiveness of Dialectical Behavior therapy and Schema therapy  in the field of conflict resolving  and enriching the couple's .relationship.The purpose of this study is to integrate the results of previous research and compare the effectiveness of these interventions on marital quality components.
Materials and Methods:For this purpose, meta-analysis was used as a statistical technique to determine, collect, combine and summarize research findings related to the effectiveness of Dialectical Behavior therapy and Schema therapy on the components of marital quality of couples.The statistical population of the study includes researches conducted in Iran in the field of mentioned psychotherapies . The statistical sample includes research conducted in this field inside Iran. For this purpose, 19 studies were selected.After reviewing 17 researches that were methodologically acceptable, they were analyzed.The research tool was a meta-analysis checklist and CMA software was used to analyze the data.
Results:The results showed the magnitude of the combined effect of the treatments(P <0.01) was equal to r = 0.629, which is equivalent to zr = 0.739 and g = 1.557, and according to Cohen's interpretation table means the size of the effect is large or high. Also, the results did not show a significant difference between the effect size of Dialectical Behavior therapy and Schema therapy.                                                                   
Conclusion:Based on the results of this meta-analysis, dialectical behavior therapy and schema therapy are effective in improving the marital quality components of couples.
